Medical Visa

Short-term stay for diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation in a foreign clinic.

Medical visas are issued to patients seeking specialized treatment outside their home country. They often cover the patient and up to two attendants, such as relatives or caregivers.

Hospitals typically provide invitation letters detailing the procedure, estimated costs, and expected duration. Immigration authorities rely on those documents to assess the visa application.

Key Documents

  1. 1
    Medical diagnosis from home country

Report explaining the condition and why treatment abroad is recommended.

  2. 2
    Hospital invitation

Letter from the foreign medical facility confirming appointment dates and costs.

  3. 3
    Financial proof

Bank statements or insurance coverage for treatment and living expenses.

  4. 4
    Accommodation and aftercare plan

Where the patient and attendants will stay before/after hospitalization.

Stay Within the Purpose

Medical visas usually forbid employment or tourism. Once treatment concludes, you must depart or apply for an extension with updated medical records. Overstays can jeopardize future visa applications.

Attendant visas are linked to the patient’s file and cannot exceed the patient's visa validity. Attendants must show proof of relationship and sufficient funds for their own stay.
