A US passport walks into Taiwan without a visa — but not without the Taiwan Arrival Card. The mandatory digital form, in force since October 2025 for air and sea arrivals, can now be submitted up to seven days before landing instead of three, per the official TWAC portal. For anyone stacking Taipei onto a multi-stop Asia trip, that means the paperwork no longer has to happen from a hotel room mid-journey.
The form takes passport details, trip purpose, flight or vessel data and your Taiwan address, verified via e-mail; one submission can cover a family or small group on the same itinerary. Filed something wrong? The TWAC stays editable until the immigration document check — you'll need the confirmation document number, date of birth, passport number and nationality to amend it.
