Overview

Visa Services
Namibian and third-country nationals resident in Namibia applying for a Spanish Schengen visa (short stay up to ninety days) or long-stay visa (national D-visa for employment, study, family reunification, scientific researcher, talent passport, retirement and other categories) submit the application in person at the Consular Section by prior email appointment. Applications must be filed between six months and fifteen days before the planned travel date. The standard Schengen processing is fifteen working days; long-stay visas typically two to four weeks depending on category. Required documents include the completed application form, photograph, passport, travel medical insurance with coverage of at least 30 000 EUR for the entire Schengen area, proof of accommodation, proof of means of subsistence and the visa fee. Spanish, English and other major-language supporting documents are accepted; Afrikaans, German, Oshiwambo and Otjiherero documents require a certified translation into Spanish or English.
Consular Services
The Consular Section assists Spanish nationals resident in Namibia with passport applications and renewals — the embassy is the only Spanish passport-issuing point in the country — DNI (national identity document) renewals, emergency travel documents (Salvoconducto) for lost or stolen passports, registration in the Registro de Matrícula Consular, registration of births to Spanish parents in Namibia, transcription of marriages and civil-status records, voting registration for Spanish elections, certificates of life for Spanish pensioners abroad, notarial acts within the consular scope, and consular assistance in emergencies — accidents, hospitalisation, arrest, theft of documents — across the broad Namibian travel circuit.
